Arguably some of the most exciting fishing to be had, Pacific Sail Fish to a 150 pounds,
Blue Marlin to 400 pounds, Stripers in the 250 pound range and the occasional Black Marlin,
not to mention the good eating, combative and aerial Mahi Mahi! Costa Rica has resident schools of bill fish,
so they are caught and released in good numbers year around but the larger fish are migratory and have an
established pattern which seldom varies. They pass through the Hannibal Banks in November
and December working their way to Quepos in March and Guanacaste in June on their way to Baja
(which makes the fishing there great in August).
